A thought leader and seasoned executive, Dr. Wycliffe Nandama is a multi-talented
pharmaceutical leader with over 28 years of experience in strategic management and
supply chain operations. Since becoming CEO of MEDS in 2021, he has driven the
organization’s mission to deliver affordable, high-quality essential medicines across Sub
Saharan Africa. Dr. Nandama has also been instrumental in driving organizational change
and Strategic Plan for 2023-2026.
Rising through roles from Quality Assurance Manager to Head of Operations, Dr.
Nandama brings a rare combination of operational expertise and strategic vision. He is a
holder of an MBA in Strategic Management and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and has
attended Senior Management Leadership Programs (SMLP) at both Strathmore Business
School and Nanyang Business school in Singapore. The roles underpin his approach to
optimizing performance, ensuring compliance, and strengthening MEDS’ impact in the
healthcare sector. His leadership positions the organization as a trusted healthcare partner
across the region.
An accomplished transformative and adaptive leader with 25 years’ wealth of
experience at health policy formulation and advocacy, grants management, health
facilities management, resources mobilization, supply chain systems strengthening,
strategy formulation, health systems strengthening and Marketing. Vast expertise in
consultancy on health-related projects and has been engaged for GIZ & European
Union funded projects. Has participated in PEPFAR and Global Fund grant making
and resource mobilization processes both locally and internationally.
An active representative of Kenya Faith Based Health Services Consortium (comprising
of KCCB,CHAK,SUPKEM & MEDS) at local and international forums organized by
PEPFAR, Kenya Coordinating Mechanism of Global Fund, African Christian Health
association Platform (ACHAP) & Christian Connections International for Health
(CCIH) among others to showcase the FBOs capacities and capabilities to attract
resources for their affiliated institutions and health facilities.
He has served in various Senior Management capacities including Director of Nursing
Services at Misikhu Mission Level IV Hospital-Webuye, Programmes Manager &
Health Systems Strengthening Technical Advisor at KCCB-KARP, Ag. Chief of Party
USAID MEDS Project and currently the Director of Commercial Services at MEDS.
He is a governance expert and is holding various positions in boards of
directors/management namely; Member of Catholic Health Department of Kenya
Executive Board, Member of Kenya Coordinating Mechanism-Global Fund Board,
Member of St Theresa Level V Mission Hosp Kiirua board & Chairman of Human
Resource & Quality of Training Committee, Member of North Kinangop Level V
Catholic Hospital board and Member of Nkubu Day Secondary Sch Board and
Member of Kenya Faith Based Health Services Consortium (KFBHSC) governance team.
He left an indelible mark of excellence in governance and transformation having been
formally the Vice-chairman Nursing Council of Kenya board & Chairman of Finance
& Human Resource Committee, Founder Chairman St. Damiano Level IV hospital
board-Bungoma, Member of St Francis Level V Community Hosp Board-Nairobi,Vice-
Chairman of Waumini Sacco Board & Chairman of Waumini Housing Company board.
Professionally, he possesses Master of Business Administration (MBA)-Strategic Mgt
(Kenya Methodist University), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)-Aga Khan
University-Kenya, Certification on Enhancing Leadership Innovation for Africa’s
Health Sector (Harvard Kennedy School) and Certification on Leadership in High Health Care
Organizations (Strathmore University) among other relevant professional credentials.
Dr Titus Omwenga Isoe is a seasoned and transformational leader in pharmaceutical
supply chain systems and public health operations, with over 14 years of experience
strengthening health systems across Kenya. At the heart of his work is a defining
conviction: strong supply chains save lives.
In his role as Director of Supply Chain and Logistics at MEDS, Dr. Isoe provides strategic
and operational oversight of end-to-end health commodities management supporting
thousands of health facilities nationwide. His portfolio spans procurement, demand
forecasting, GMP/GDP-compliant operations, warehousing, distribution, supplier
engagement, quality assurance, and donor-funded programme support, all anchored in a
commitment to reliability, stewardship, and patient impact.
Dr. Isoe brings a solid academic and professional foundation in Supply Chain
Management, Industrial pharmacy, pharmaceutical research, and process innovation,
which informs his approach to quality, operational efficiency, and product stewardship
across the supply chain. His expertise enables MEDS to maintain its position as Kenya’s
foremost health commodities provider, delivering value-driven, quality-assured medicines
and supplies to clients across the country and the wider region.
Prior to joining MEDS, Dr. Isoe served as County Pharmacist and Head of Health
Products and Technologies Unit in Meru County, where he led a comprehensive
transformation of county-level pharmaceutical supply chain systems. His tenure was
marked by significant reductions in stockouts, improved reporting accuracy, strengthened
Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS), expanded workforce capacity, and
increased investment in health commodities. He also served as a Pharmacist at Meru
Teaching and Referral Hospital, Muthara and Mathiene Sub-County Hospitals, where he
developed a deep appreciation for frontline health service delivery.
Dr. Isoe holds a Master of Pharmacy specializing in Industrial Pharmacy, and a Bachelor
of Pharmacy degree. He has undertaken extensive professional training in supply chain
management, logistics, and leadership, both locally and internationally.
Dr. Stephen Kigera, affectionately known as “Daktari,” is a highly qualified and registered
Pharmacist with over 18 years of professional experience. He has spent more than 16 years
leading and managing critical areas in the pharmaceutical sector, including supply chain
management, business operations, and product quality assurance.
Stephen is an internationally recognized auditor, trainer, and consultant, renowned for his
expertise in quality standards and regulatory compliance. Beyond his organizational roles,
he serves on the Kenya National Technical Working Group on Pharmacovigilance and
Post-Market Surveillance at Pharmacy and Poisons Board, advancing the safety and
efficacy of pharmaceuticals within the healthcare system.
He is chairman of the Board of Directors at the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network
(EPN), and superintending Pharmacist at MEDS. Complementing his pharmaceutical
expertise, He holds a Kenyan accounting qualification (CPA Part II), an MBA in Strategic
Management from the University of South Wales, UK and he is the Management
Representative for ISO 9001:2015. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to fostering
a culture of quality and improving healthcare outcomes globally.
Michael Mwangi has extensive expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and
investment oversight. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a
specialization in Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance. He is a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA), reflecting his professional rigor and commitment to excellence in
financial practice.
He joined MEDS in 2010 as a Senior Accountant and quickly became integral to the
organization’s financial operations. He oversaw comprehensive accounting functions,
including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, budgeting, taxation, and
compliance with relevant standards as he managed internal and external audits, ensuring
transparency and regulatory adherence, while optimizing resource allocation and
investment performance.
Promoted to Chief Accountant, he ensured the timely preparation of management
accounts and financial reports to support strategic decision-making while managing
donor-funded project audits, grant financial oversight, and risk and compliance
frameworks, safeguarding MEDS’s operational and fiscal integrity.
Michael has led several MEDS business transformation initiatives. Notable initiatives
include the review of MEDS operational processes, which herald the implementation of
efficient work processes, including the design of MEDS shift system and business
outsourcing strategy in the year 2019. Chaired the committee that developed the USD
594M USAID System Strengthening Project proposal, which was successful. He has
contributed to the development of three successive Five-Year strategic plans and played a
key role in reviewing MEDS’s Credit Policy to strengthen financial health and stakeholder
service.
He has also demonstrated leadership in governance and served as Treasurer and
Chairperson of the MEDS Staff Provident Fund Scheme for ten years, ensuring the fund’s
financial stability. Additionally, he was Treasurer and Director of the Ecumenical
Pharmaceutical Network for seven years, promoting access to essential medicines and
strengthening health systems.
With over a decade of strategic and operational experience at MEDS, Michael combines
technical financial expertise with visionary leadership to drive organizational growth,
sustainability, and impact in the health sector.
Kizito Nasumba is a distinguished leader in Strategy, General Management, Internal
Audit, Risk Management, and Corporate Governance, widely appreciated for bringing
innovative insight to audit and for championing a simple principle: whatever you do, do
it with excellence. He brings extensive expertise in Financial Control, Risk and
Operational Excellence, underpinned by an MBA in Finance and has attained a wide
range of professional certifications, including Certified Balanced Scorecard Professional
(CBSP), Chartered Accountant of England and Wales, Certified Public Accountant of
Kenya(CPA-K), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Secretary(CPS),
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA),
Certified Information Systems Security Professional(CISSP), Certified ISO 31000 Lead
Implimentor, Certified Fraud Examiner(CFE), Certified Information Security
Manager(CISM), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt holder (LSSBB), Diploma in Insurance
(IIK), Chartered Arbitrator, ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and Certified Executive &
Emotional Intelligence Coach. He has also completed Senior Management and
Executive programs in General Management, Strategy, and Executive Leadership at
Strathmore Business School, Harvard Business School, and IESE Business School in
Madrid. He was voted as the Youngest Insurer of the Year (2016) and awarded Best
Risk Manager and Best Innovative Fraud Prevention (2015–2017). Beyond his
organizational roles, he serves as a Trustee on the MEDS Life Assurance Pension
Scheme, member of the KEPSA Gender Board and Member of Finance Committee
Impala Club while also sharing his expertise as a trainer and speaker with the Institute
of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Owen Wahome is fondly referred to as -The PD is a dynamic and accomplished leader with
extensive experience in humanitarian and medical logistics. He has directed large-scale
logistics for EBOLA vaccine studies under the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine and led rapid public health response teams in Sierra Leone in 2015. His hands
on expertise spans the delivery of essential medicines and food in security-challenged
contexts, including Kenya, South Sudan, and the Tigray humanitarian corridor in
Ethiopia.
Owen holds a master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, is a certified humanitarian
logistician (CILT-UK), and served as a global delegate for the International Federation of
Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Over a distinguished 14-year career, he has
led operations during some of Africa’s most complex medical emergencies. His
commitment to medicine safety, quality improvement, and the innovative use of
technology to address global health challenges underscores his strategic vision and impact
as a leader.
