Projects Directorate

The Projects Directorate at MEDS is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and oversight of donor-funded programs, humanitarian initiatives, and strategic health system strengthening projects that support healthcare delivery across Kenya and the region.

The Directorate plays a critical role in advancing MEDS’ mission of improving access to quality, affordable, and reliable healthcare products and services through partnerships with governments, development agencies, faith-based organizations, and international donors. The Directorate manages large-scale projects focused on supply chain strengthening, public health commodity distribution, emergency response, healthcare systems support, and humanitarian assistance.

The Directorate oversees project design, implementation, compliance, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, donor coordination, and program reporting to ensure effective delivery of project objectives and sustainable impact. It also supports institutional innovation and strategic partnerships that strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes in underserved communities.

MEDS has implemented major donor-supported initiatives, including USAID-funded supply chain strengthening and health commodity distribution programs aimed at supporting HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), and Global Health Security interventions across all 47 counties in Kenya.

The Directorate further supports humanitarian and emergency response interventions by coordinating rapid supply chain support, emergency medical supplies distribution, and partnerships that enhance healthcare access during crises and public health emergencies.

Through strong donor coordination, operational excellence, and integrated project management approaches, the Directorate contributes significantly to healthcare resilience, humanitarian support, and sustainable health outcomes across Kenya and beyond.
